BY INVITATION

After serving the homeless population in the Mainland for 25 years, Regina Weller was invited to the Big Island by Steve and Mavourneen Wilcox of the Wilcox Foundation.   Regina arrived here at the start of 2018 and expanded the 501(c)3 Nonprofit Charity to the State of Hawaii under the name:

        808 Homeless Task Force

"The days are over when one could walk by a homeless person and think 'they are not my business, not my concern, or I don't want to be involved'.  The numbers have substantially increased, they are everywhere and in your presence -  it's a hardship for them and for any community.   I consider this a crisis.  It needs to be addressed as an emergency, and it's imperative to address the needs one person at a time.  We cannot put people in a box, they are individuals just like you and I.   They need guidance and direction to get out of the hole they're in.  Problem solving and practical methodology cannot be delayed.  Acts of goodwill are the only remedy to saving a life and bettering the community as a whole."  - Regina Weller
